Stevie Ray Vaughan, who had been a devoted user of the Ibanez
TS-808, focused on making use of its distinctive qualities - such as the strong,
protruding middle and boost - rather than aiming to get more distortion out of
the overdrive device. At default, this patch will give you a slightly mid-boosted
sound. However, when the GAIN (Knob 1) is raised, the result will be an intense
overdrive - so intense that it would surpass the levels of other distortion-type
devices.
