The ProCo RAT is an effects device that can retain the dynamics
of the original sound and maintain its tone separation even when the level of
distortion goes higher than the distortion level of a fuzz effect. This device
can be dubbed as "the hidden hero of the1980's HR/HM scene". When the GAIN value
(Knob 1) is increased, it realizes an extremely high-level gain that would even
overwhelm the RAT. Because of this, a single-coil pick-up may end up sounding
rather noisy with this patch. However, the actual noise generated will be less
than half the amount of an analogue distortion.
